Once in a while we get a paid “studiereis” from World Ticket Center to improve our knowledge about certain destinations. After a long time waiting finally it was my turn and together with my colleague Janneke I got a flight ticket and camper voucher for the US.

On March 26th 2012 our adventure began and we took a flight with KLM to San Francisco where we changed planes to our final destination Denver, Colorado. After a bumpy flight we arrived 19:00 p.m. and a taxi brought us to the campsite outside Denver where Esther and Yvette were waiting for us in the Roadbear RV CV 23 – 26′. They had picked up the brand new vehicle a week earlier in Chicago and drove it to Denver.

After a night with the 4 of us sleeping in de camper Esther and Yvette flew back to Holland and we started our long journey to San Francisco. Around 3000 kilometer lay ahead and the first destination was Moab – the gateway to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Filling up the 200 liter tank, shopping and 600 kilometer along Interstate No. 70.,  passing through the Rocky Mountains National Park, took us the whole day and we arrived in Moab in the evening.

Next morning we drove through Arches National Park and did some walking in the “Window Section” and to the Double Arch. Water, ice, extreme temperatures and underground salt movement are responsible for the sculptured rock scenery, creating over 2000 arches in the past 100 million years.
