Like every year me and Peter plan to visit the Belgium city of Antwerp at least once.
Spontaneously I asked him on Thursday 19th April what he had planned for the coming weekend…’Nothing’ his answer was…the weather forecast was looking good, so all the ingredients were there for having a drink in Belgium!

Friday 20th. I worked until 3pm and picked up Peter in Alphen aan den Rijn around 3.45pm, already noticing that the highway was pretty busy. We set off and after more than an hour and a half we were crossing the Brienenoord bridge in Rotterdam…a drive which usually takes half an hour…we basically drove from traffic jam into traffic jam which was a bit silly with sun heading up high! We looked at each other and decided to leave the highway in search for a campsite nearby which we found at the city of Dordrecht.

After we arrived at campsite Het Loze Vissertje we set up the BBQ and enjoyed the start of the weekend!
By train from station Dordrecht Stadspolders we went to Dordrecht main station and walked into the old part of town which was notably quiet. We found a place called Jongepier for having a drink, but soon this place shut down. We strolled a bit more through town walking by the Grote Kerk soon reaching the main station for taking the train back to the campsite.

Next morning after washing up and having breakfast in the sun we drove back home.
